from my experience its usually done by chronics who steal cars and then use it to rob houses for drug money. but they like to take common cars like accords, swap the plates to blend in, and then rub the car down with motor oil and dump it somewhere when the are through with it. those cars get recovered with just smashed ignitions and locks. in my case, my car is probably in a million little pieces by now. cameras show it took the thieves almost half an hour to steal the z, and they usually won't take that kind of risk for just a joyride. i don't know about you mainland guys, but its not always a chopshop. usually these guys go to some remote field or swamp, dismantle it, and then leave it. doesn't take em more than 24 hours. like recently cops found 20 cars in a pineapple field stripped to the bone, or even more embarassing some guys had an auto junkyard thing going on underneath a freeway onramp that nobody knew about. and auto thefts are pretty low on the priority scale so these guys usually don't get caught unless they get pulled over for expired tags or something equally stupid.
Next time she leans over to check your speed...make sure you tap the brakes hard enough to send her into the dash. Posted by BradZ (FL) on December 07, 2005 at 11:08 PM |
